The second season of Stranger Things only came out five months ago, but it probably feels like five years since you watched all the episodes in one night. But at least we finally have some details about the upcoming third season to satiate our appetites.
Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy has revealed some details about the upcoming third season of the hit Netflix show. The next season will start one year after the events of the second season, during the summer of 1985. Levy said that Eleven and Mike will be a couple at the beginning of next season, as will Lucas and Max.
“Mike and Eleven and are going strong, so that’s a relationship that continues, and same with Mad Max and Lucas. But again, they’re like 13- or 14-year-old kids, so what does romance mean at that stage of life? It can never be simple and stable relationships and there’s fun to that instability,” Levy said.
Levy also revealed that Steve Harrington will play a larger role in next season, as an extension of his role as a protector of the boys in the final episodes of season two.
He also added that 1985 classic Back to the Future will be a reference for the upcoming third season.
Does that mean Eleven’s going to time travel?
Probably not, but we can dream!
