Shia LaBeouf is one of the more…eccentric actors in the world nowadays. But his latest project may be the strangest yet.
LaBeouf is currently filming a movie called Honey Boy, a movie about a child star actor who tries to mend his relationship with his father who is both an alcoholic and a criminal. The strange part about the movie is that the plot is actually based off LaBeouf’s life. LaBeouf was a child star actor whose father does in fact have a criminal record. In the movie, LaBeouf will be playing the balding, middle age father.
So Shia LaBeouf is playing Shia LaBeouf’s father in a movie about Shia LaBeouf.
LaBeouf actually wrote the movie as well, so this is clearly a very personal project for the actor. He’s previously mentioned his troubled childhood in interviews, saying his father once gave him a joint while he was 12 or 13.
Lucas Hedges, best known for Lady Bird and Manchester by the Sea, will play an adult version of the Shia LaBeouf character in the movie, while Noah Jupe form A Quiet Place will play child Shia.
We’re guessing this movie is going to be at least a bit unusual.
