Legally Blonde is a classic comedy that helped launch Reese Witherspoon’s career. And now fans of the movie will get more adventures in the life of Elle Woods.
MGM studios is in talks to make Legally Blonde 3 with Witherspoon reprising her role as Woods. The studio is also in talks with the original film’s writers to come back to write the script for the third movie.
Legally Blonde came out in 2001 and told the story of a blonde, stereotypical sorority girl who goes to Harvard Law School to try and get back with her ex-boyfriend. The sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, saw Woods in Washington D.C. to pass a bill banning animal testing for cosmetics.
While Witherspoon had been in successful films prior to Legally Blonde, this movie was her big breakout role that made her a box office attraction. Since then she’s won an Oscar and been nominated for a second.
We’re guessing there will be a few dumb blonde jokes in the third movie.
