Director Quentin Tarantino’s new movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is gaining massive hype for its star cast and subject matter, and it appears the famed auteur doesn’t want to play it down.
In an appearance at CinemaCon, a convention for movie theater owners, Tarantino talked about his upcoming movie and praised the lead actors, Leonardo Dicaprio and Brad Pitt. He then took it even a step farther by calling them “the most exciting dynamic star duo since Paul Newman and Robert Redford.”
Dicaprio didn’t shy away from hype-building either. He praised Tarantino’s writing by saying it’s “one of the most amazing screenplays [he] has ever written.” And he wrote Pulp Fiction! How could anything compare to that?
Not much is entirely known about what Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. We do know that Dicaprio and Pitt play a TV actor and his stunt double who are trying to make a name for themselves in Los Angeles in 1969. We also know that the Manson Family murders will be involved, as Margot Robbie is playing Sharon Tate, the actress and wife of director Roman Polanski who is the most famous victim of the cult’s murder spree.
But we need to stop all this hype building for this movie! It doesn’t come out until 2019! You can’t just keep getting us excited for a movie that isn’t coming out for another year and a half.
