Patrick Stewart Considering Coming Back to ‘Star Trek’

Patrick Stewart is a renowned actor known for many of his classic roles in TV and film. But it turns out he may be returning to space and his most iconic role.

Stewart is in discussions to return as Jean-Luc Picard in a reboot of Star Trek: The Next Generation. CBS is considering rebooting the series after the success of their Star Trek: Discovery series this year.

“Patrick is looking pretty good to get back on board the Enterprise. There are some aspects of the deal to be finalised, but there is a verbal commitment from all parties,” a source told the Mirror.

Stewart played Picard for seven years on The Next Generation as the captain of the Enterprise starship. The role ended up being a breakout for the actor, who has gone on to other great roles.

It’s not clear how involved Stewart’s role would be in a possible reboot of the series. Some speculate it could be a starring or recurring role, while others think it could just be a few episodes. Others think an animated version of the show could end up getting made, and Stewart would simply lend his voice for that.

Let’s just hope we can get some more memes out of whatever Stewart’s involvement ends up being.
