Spider-Man is one of the most iconic superheroes of all time. Everyone can relate to Peter Parker, the lonely nerd who’s transformed into a powerful hero thanks to a radioactive spider. Whether it’s in comics, on TV or in movies, people just cannot get enough of America’s favorite web-slinger. But there’s one thing very few fans have been able to experience: Spider-Man’s original debut comic.
Spider-Man first appeared in the 15th issue of Marvel’s Amazing Fantasy series, which created the origin story that we all know. Peter Parker, nerdy high school student, gets bitten by a radioactive spider and develops superpowers. He decides to enter a wrestling competition to earn some money using his new powers. After his match, his Uncle Ben is killed by a burglar, who Peter later learns was a man he could’ve helped a security guard arrest. Fans loved the Spider-Man story, and Marvel created a series of comics featuring the web-slinger. And the rest, as they say, is comic book history.
Considering Amazing Fantasy #15 debuted all the way back in 1962, there are not too many copies lying around for people to look through. But here at Screenbid, we have a copy, and we’re auctioning it off to any true fans who want to get their hands on Spidey’s origin story. This is an incredibly rare opportunity, as copies of this issue aren’t easy to find and are highly coveted by both Spider-Man fans as well as comic book collectors.
