With so many superhero movies getting made nowadays, it seems like every major actor is finding a role as either a hero or a villain. But one prolific actor has revealed what roles he would bring him back to a comic book movie.
Cage was recently interviewed about his new movie, The Humanity Bureau, when he was asked about returning to a comic book movie. Cage previously played the hero in the Ghost Rider films and famously almost played Superman. The actor gave a few thoughts on roles that would bring him back to the superhero realm.
“I think my comic book days are kind of…I’m on to other things, but I always thought I’d make a great Joker,” Cage said. “And I always thought that I would’ve been a good villain in one of the Marvel [movies] like Doctor Doom. But Doctor Doom you have to wear that mask, but I thought the story leading up to Doctor Doom could’ve been interesting. At this point, if I was to go back into the format, it would probably have to be as a villain.”
Here were Cage’s thoughts specifically about playing the Joker.
“It would be the perfect one for me to go even more off the rails than I’ve ever done before,” Cage said. “It’d be fun.”
Now we really want a rebooted Batman universe with a Nic Cage Joker. Let’s get this made DC!
