‘Little Women’ Remake Starring Meryl Streep and Emma Stone is Happening

Little Women is a classic American novel that’s become a staple for generations. And now some of the most talented actresses in Hollywood are coming together to give it a classic film adaptation as well.

Little Women adaptation starring Meryl Streep, Emma Stone, Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet is in the works. The movie will be directed by Greta Gerwig coming off the success of last year’s Lady Bird. It will be a reunion for Ronan, Chalamet and Gerwig who all worked on Lady Bird together.

The novel was written by Louisa May Alcott and tells the story of four sisters growing up in the 1800’s. The novel has actually been adapted into film six different times, as well as six times for television. The most famous version is probably the 1994 adaptation starring Winona Ryder.

It’s believed that Ronan and Stone will play two of the sisters, and Streep will play their mother. Chalamet will likely play the man who proposes to one sister but ends up marrying a different one.

There are also rumors that the adaptation will be set in modern day as opposed to the post-Civil War setting of the original novel, but that hasn’t 100 percent been confirmed.

But with an all-star cast like this, there’s almost no way it could go wrong.
