Jimi Hendrix is one of the greatest guitar players of all time, so any memorabilia belonging to the musician is sure to draw interest. But what about his arrest card?
In 1969, Hendrix was arrested at the Toronto airport after authorities found heroin and hash in his luggage. While Hendrix would eventually be acquitted of charges related to the crime after claiming he didn’t know the drugs were in there, his arrest stayed on record. And now you can have that on record as well.
The arrest card used after Hendrix was detained is being auctioned off. The card contains fingerprints belonging to Hendrix as well as his signature at the top. Certainly not the usual piece of signed memorabilia you’re used to seeing.
Hendrix’s mug shot taken during the arrest previously was auctioned off for $14,000, but the arrest card is expected to go for more considering it has both his fingerprints and his signature on it.
If you think about it, those same fingerprints created some of the greatest guitar riffs in history. Or at least that’s what you could tell your friends when you buy it.
