Jim Carrey to Play a Mr. Rogers-Type Character in New TV Show

While Jim Carrey was once one of the most famous actors in the world, he hasn’t appeared in many movies recently. But it appears he may be making a big comeback on the small screen.

Carrey will star in a new TV show on Showtime called Kidding. On the show, Carrey plays the host of a children’s TV program similar to a Mr. Rogers-type show. However, when he’s not hosting his show, his personal life seems to be quite a mess. Take a look at the trailer:

The show seems to be taking a little bit from the actual life of Carrey, who’s had some personal issues in his life the past few years. So this could be one of those introspective roles that becomes a major turning point in his career.

One of the producers of the show is Michel Gondry, who directed Carrey in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which is considered one of his best acting performances.

Too bad it’s not a movie though. We still need to find a way to get him an Oscar!
