Get Ready to Rock Out with the Trailer for the Freddie Mercury Biopic

Freddie Mercury is one of the most iconic frontmen in rock n’ roll history. And now it appears he’s getting the epic biopic he always deserved.

The first trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody: The Movie came out today, and was released on the Queen Youtube channel. While there doesn’t seem to be much detail from the actual movie, we do get an awesome soundtrack feature Queen’s greatest hits as well as some awesome footage from concerts in the film. Take a look:

The Freddie Mercury biopic was first rumored to be in production back in 2010. However, the project received many roadblocks and obstacles that prevented filming. Initially, Sacha Baron Cohen, of Borat fame, was supposed to star as Mercury, but eventually dropped out of the project.

Mercury instead is being played by Rami Malek, best known for his performance as Elliot Alderson in Mr. Robot. So he’s going from playing a socially awkward computer hacker to the most charismatic singer in music history. Pretty big transformation.

The movie is coming out this November, so we’ll finally see if this movie lives up the Freddie Mercury hype.
