Space travel is a pretty common plot in movies made nowadays, but a movie coming out this fall will show the story of one of the great space pioneers of all time.
Damien Chazelle, the director of La La Land and Whiplash, is directing a new movie about Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, called First Man. Armstrong will be played by Ryan Gosling, who also starred in La La Land. The film is described as a “mission” movie about the terrors of space travel and supposedly features several action set pieces taken from Armstrong’s actual career.
People magazine managed to convince the filmmakers to show them some images of the upcoming movie, and published them for the world to see. So here is the first look at the Neil Armstrong biopic:
The film will also star Claire Foy, known for playing Queen Elizabeth II on Netflix’s The Crown, as Armstrong’s wife Janet and Corey Stoll as Buzz Aldrin.
Of course, this is all just propaganda from NASA. We all know the moon landing was actually faked by Stanley Kubrick in a Hollywood sound studio.
