Field of Dreams is one of the great sports movies of all time. In fact, the movie’s so famous that the baseball field used in it has become a major tourist attraction in Iowa. But apparently not everyone is a fan.
ESPN reported that the Field of Dreams baseball field was damaged by a vandal Monday night. Workers at the field in Dyersville, Iowa showed up to work Tuesday morning and found “deep gashes in the outfield” and a damaged sprinkler system. The damages were made worse because the ground was softer than usual due to recent rain and warmer weather.

The owner of the field says it will likely take months to repair the damages to the field, but the site will stay open during that time. She said people come from all over the world to see the field, and, “They don’t always check Facebook to make sure we are open.”
The Field of Dreams site is free for visitors to check out. Tourists are allowed to run around the bases and explore the cornfields surrounding the stadium.
Apparently someone must have a problem with heartfelt stories about baseball and family.
