Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Lightsaber and the Chariot from ‘Ben-Hur’ are Part of a Huge Auction of Classic Movie Props

Every once and awhile there’s news about a major piece of pop culture memorabilia coming up for auction. But in just a few weeks, there won’t just be one major piece of memorabilia, but an entire collection.

The auction house Profiles in History recently announced an upcoming auction called “Icons & Legends of Hollywood,” that will feature several prominent pieces of pop culture history. Some of the items that will be featured in the auction include Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber from Star Wars: A New Hope, a chariot used during the production of Ben-Hur, the leather jacket worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator and a nightgown worn by Olivia de Havilland in Gone With the Wind.

The auction seems to have a pretty big emphasis on sci-fi items. In addition to the lightsaber and Schwarzenegger’s jacket, the auction will also feature a Harley-Davidson motorcycle from Terminator 2, a spacesuit worn by Sigourney Weaver in Alien as well as her flamethrower from Aliens, and there will be several other Star Wars props as well.

There will also be several items from more classic Hollywood films, including a tuxedo worn by James Dean and a dress worn by Elizabeth Taylor from the movie Giant.

The auction will take place in Los Angeles from June 5th through the 8th.
