In the lands of Westeros, many people are vying for the opportunity to spend time with the mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen. But it turns out that even in the real-world, very important people are still trying to get the Khaleesi’s attention.
This weekend, celebrities gathered at an auction hosted by actor Sean Penn to help raise money for Haiti Relief. One of the items up for auction was the opportunity to watch Game of Thrones with Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on the show. And there was one very enthused bidder for the opportunity: Brad Pitt.
While the opening price to watch Thrones with Clarke was $20,000, Pitt quickly bid $90,000. Then Clarke’s co-star Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow on the show, said he would also attend the private Game of Thrones viewing, and Pitt raised his own bid up to $120,000.
Unfortunately for Pitt, despite his high bid, he did not win the auction. A husband and wife pair who were in attendance at the auction bid $160,000 to watch the show with Clarke, and Pitt yielded to them. So despite his enthusiasm, apparently he had his limits.
But considering Game of Thrones isn’t coming back until 2019, could the show find a way to cast Pitt in a role for the final season? Heck, it doesn’t seem like they’d even have to pay him for the opportunity!
