While modern technology has improved the movie-going experience in many ways, there’s one key aspect that has actually gotten worse over the years: Movie posters. In the past, posters had their own cool style and were well-crafted pieces of art that weren’t just generic promotional materials. Well one art gallery is looking to bring that back.
Mondo Gallery in Austin, Texas is hosting a limited time exhibit of horror movie posters. The art is called the “Universal Studios’ Monsters” series. The gallery will feature screen-printed posters made by various artists of iconic horror movies. This includes movies like Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Wolf Man.
The exhibit will feature work from 15 different artists, and will be displayed at Mondo Gallery from January 19th through January 27th. Here’s a look at a few of the posters:
